The stunning Abbotsford House in the Scottish Borders is the home of Sir Walter Scott and a veritable feast for the eye as well as the brain cells. But maintaining the site – and helping to maintain its rightful position as a world-renowned visitor attraction – is a daily challenge.
A Heritage Lottery Fund award has been an exceptional boost to securing its future, but realising the Abbotsford Trust’s vision of a stunning contemporary visitor centre still needs financial support through donation. The new online strategy which Fission developed, provides a platform to support donor campaigns in the United States and in Japan, as well as to integrate social media and blogging which are important means of keeping in touch with stakeholders and supporters.
